Becky currently resides in Miramichi, NB, Canada.
As a refugee of the civil conflict in Sierra Leone over control of the diamond mines. Becky lived in the mountain region that seen the worst of the fighting, She escaped through the war zone with her three young children, one whom she adopted as her parents were killed in the war. She established herself in Guinea as a refugee. Her determination to live and emigrate to the western world gave her the strength to survive, and then endure the next difficult stage of her journey when she ended up on a plane bound for Canada on September 11, 2001. Since then, she has taught herself English, obtained a GED, and earned a Human Service certificate at NBCC, thur began her career.
